Anonymous asked: Have you ever read kikaider ,guyver, or jojo's bizarre adventure, and if so did you like them? Will you ever do a comic about Ceasar spending time with his little brother, Rocky? In Sharknife Double Z there's a scene where slim notices the dead shark before chieko did and she was outside first WTF is up with that?. What do you think about comics in this day and age? Do you like seeing the art form get the exposure and popularity its getting?
1) i havent read kikaider or much jojo— i need to get more into jojo, i know. i’m a lifelong fan of guyver. that story & character have obviously had a huge influence on me!
2) a comic about rocky & ceasar? that’s actually a really good idea. so yes, i will do that someday.
3) i think i know the scene you’re referring to. and yeah, i think it’s like a bit out of sequence. there was a lot going on in that scene & my mind and i messed some things in dub z up ha ha. but i enjoy weird flaws like that??
4) comics is pretty awesome right now. a lot of my talented friends are practically runnin things now. & that’s all good. i wish MANGA was still as big as it was 5 to 10 years ago— or better yet, a more of “WORLD COMICS” where all of us comic ppl share the same universe. i’d like to go to more conventions with like Masashi Kishimoto or Taiyo Matsumoto there— although that is also definitely happening at more conventions lately. I definitely like seeing the art form getting the exposure it is. But I think even more exposure is warranted. More comic artists, writers, creators should be notable people in pop culture. There should be a reality show about comic artists living together. I know Penny Arcade did one about like web cartoonists— but i want one about gritty ass cocksure comic artists living together and shining light on the more confident, aggressive & professional level of comics, which is there, rough to admit, but totally fun and part of it.
